Bring your children to NorthCourt for a variety of Bookmarks events during the month of March. From storytime to yoga, these free programs are all sponsored by Atmos Energy. For more information, please contact Bookmarks at 214.671.1381.
 


Kabuki!
March 1 – 10:30AM, NorthCourt
Kabuki presented by Kent Williams. East meets West by sharing knowledge and talent. Kent will teach the children the traditional Japanese art form of theater. Kabuki is brought to life through the use of costume, Japanese fans and dramatic movement.

Storytime Serendipity
March 2 – 10:30AM, NorthCourt
Sit, scrabble, sing-a-long and waggle. Toddlers will experience tales that awake and excite. Preschoolers will naturally be stimulated by sounds and by sight. Words and pictures, props and sounds – a storytime adventure awaits and happy endings will be found.

Kid Yoga with Stephanie Spett
March 3 – 10:30AM, NorthCourt
Please join us Center for a literary journey through yoga breathing, stretching, story and shavasana led by Stephanie Spett. (Please bring a yoga mat.)

Chinese Storytime
March 4 – 10:30AM, NorthCourt
This storytime will be presented in Mandarin Chinese and English in NorthCourt of NorthPark Center and will be led by Linda Li of the Park Cities Chinese School and translated by Cheryl Collett.

Jamming with Jason
March 4 – 11AM, NorthCourt
Join Rhythm and Blues musician, former Kidville entertainer and the voice of Clifford the Big Red Dog television theme song, Mr. Jason, in an upbeat yet down to earth musical storytelling session.

Snake Encounters presented by Daryl Sprout
March 4 – 2PM, NorthCourt
The surreptitious world of snakes will be presented with comedy, magic and slithering tales.

Baby Basics
March 6 – 10:30AM, NorthCourt
Lots of fun for moms/caregivers and infants up to 24 months with interactive music, nursery rhymes and stories! 

DFW FUNNY BUSINESS presents The Luck of the Irish!
March 8 – 10:30AM, NorthCourt
Lucky the Leprechaun will give the children his treasure but they must discover a way have to catch him, first! Funny folklore will fascinate the family.

Purim Play with Miss Chana!

Celebrate the arrival of Purim with a story hour that will include noisemaker craft making and snacks!

Story Art with Miss Leena

Leena uses interactive storytelling to engage listeners and encourage audience participation. "We sing. We move. We get to know the characters as we explore the literary landscape and make discoveries in the creative environment" Leena explains. A vocal musician and dancer, she uses the power of imagination to bring stories to life through words and dance.

David Chicken
March 11 – 2PM, NorthCourt
David Chicken presented by David Chicken! This Emmy Award Winning Family Entertainer is part superhero, part Elvis, and %100 fun for all ages.  His live show spectacular, is a heart-pounding, floor-stomping event that’s exciting and healthy for the whole family.  This talented singer/ songwriter leads his audience through high-energy sing-alongs, dancing, and general hilarity.

Tommy Terrific!

Tommy Terrific is a big kid that shows up at your event to watch his Uncle Fumpernutter perform his magic show! When no one can find Uncle Fumpernutter, Tommy takes over!

Spanish Storytime with Miss Lilia

Ms. Lilia, a native of Argentina, has worked as a librarian with the Dallas Public Library for over 10 years. She is very creative and enjoys reading to children!

Willow and Her Giant
March 18 – 2PM, NorthCourt
Willow and her Giant are harpists, vocalists, and storytellers. Their hearts delight is in entertaining children of all ages. Willow and her Giant Germy (short for Diarmuid) believe strongly in spreading the message of hope and love as far as they can. In each performance you will learn about character qualities such as courage, compassion, generosity, and more. Singing along is highly encouraged.

Where the Wild Things Are!
March 22 – 10:30AM, NorthCourt
Where the Wild Things Are presented by Doryane Breedlove.  A creative rendition of the 1964 Caldecott Medal winner is presented by local storytelling talent Dorayne Breedlove, featuring interpretive dance, a wolf suit, and a journey to the land where your children will become the “Wild Things” as they roar their terrible roars!

Mister Mark, Get Set, Go presented by Mister Mark.  Award winning songwriter for children and families. Mr. Mark engages children in dance, singing, and interactive educational play with words, feelings and imagination.
