The iconic Lacoste tennis shirt was introduced in 1929 by French tennis star René Lacoste. Lacoste was nicknamed “the crocodile” because of his tenacity on the court. The sporty brand with the famous logo has come a long way since then, yet for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City this week, Lacoste decided to go back to its roots to celebrate the famous tennis star and inventor with its fall/winter 2015 runway collection.
On the runway, Lacoste featured looks for both men and women inspired by the sport and with the tagline “René did it first.” Bright colors, bold graphics, and loungewear were all over the runway. Women wore flowy skirts and dresses, bold stripes, braided knits, and raincoats. Men sported colorful jump suits, dress jackets, and statement bags.
From the classic shirt to formal attire, Lacoste at NorthPark Center will get your style in the game with fashions inspired by tennis.
