I’ve recently started working out with a new trainer. Junior is amazing, but he insists on us exercising outdoors. This was a huge change for me, as I was used to working out inside a warm gym. I can’t tell you how much harder it is being out in the elements. I burn so many more calories just because my body is constantly trying to keep warm! Of course, exercising outside also meant that I needed much warmer clothes. I found some great options at both lululemon athletica and The North Face.
When it’s really chilly outside, my ears are the first thing to get cold. I don’t always like to wear hats, so I’m a big fan of lululemon’s ear warmers. They are super comfortable and really keep your ears from freezing.
A warm jacket is a must, but I also need one that’s easy to move around in. At The North Face, I found the Osito jacket. It’s a full zip jacket with a soft, silken fleece. It definitely keeps me from filling the chill.
The women’s Winter Warm tights also from The North Face are perfect for running and lifting weights. They are supportive, tight-fitting leggings that come in a breathable, stretch fabric.
And when it is really sub-zero temps outside, I have to take a blast from the 80s past. I love to pull out the leg warmers! lululemon makes a great pair of black, knitted leg warmers that are fantastic. I wear them over my Winter Warm tights and can exercise outdoors for hours (ok, maybe not that long!).
