As athleisure clothing has slowly but surely made its way into the wardrobes of fashion-forward men and women everywhere, it’s no surprise that Nike, one of the world’s leading athletic brands, is teaming up with the hottest designers in fashion to merge couture and cutting edge performance gear into one category. Quickly following NikeLab’s stunning collaboration with Balmain designer Olivier Rousteing in May, there are more exciting NikeLab collections coming out, making up its Summer of Sport series.

There is nothing ordinary about the creations of British fashion designer Kim Jones, the artistic director of men’s collections for Louis Vuitton. It’s no surprise that Nike would select him to collaborate on one of their unique ready-to-wear lines only available at NikeLab stores. Jones was excited about the opportunity as well, as he has always been a big fan. When asked in an interview with Nike if he currently possessed any of the brand’s sneakers, he responded, “I have about 500 or 600 pairs of sneakers in my archives, probably.” Jones selected the original 1995 Nike Air Zoom and the Air Max 1 as inspiration for his new sneaker, the NikeLab Air Zoom LWP x Kim Jones.
Jones chose to focus on creating packable, foldable items due to his love for travel. He wanted his creations to be easily accessible and lightweight to athletes on the move. Products include windrunner tops, athlete travel bags, lightweight pants and tech knit tanks. Prices range from $95-$275.
