Fleurs de Villes, the world-renowned floral exhibition on view throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, and Europe, made its Texas debut at NorthPark Center with a unique new exhibition: Fleurs de Villes ARTISTE, a fresh floral celebration of NorthPark’s commitment to the arts, inspired by North Texas' distinguished arts and cultural scene.

Fleurs de Villes ARTISTE was a curated collection of 15 one-of-a-kind fresh floral mannequins, all created by North Texas' most talented floral designers with themes chosen by the region’s vibrant arts and cultural organizations. Each floral display distinctively showcased the featured institution, encompassing the disciplines of dance, music, theater, visual arts, and more.

AMON CARTER MUSEUM OF AMERICAN ART
SAGE FINE FLOWERS

Sage Fine Flowers' floral mannequin drew inspiration from the Carter collection's Parson Weems’ Fable by Grant Wood. It delved into the concept of a fable as a story within a story, rich with deeper meanings. Embracing the painting’s dramatic color palette, bold lines, and unique perspective, this design challenged convention. Echoing the vibrant hues of reds, blues, and greens, the mannequin was adorned with rich amaranthus, hypericum berries, and dark roses, with knickers fashioned from hydrangea blooms.

ANITA N. MARTINEZ BALLET FOLKLORICO
CONCEPTO

The Anita N. Martinez Ballet Folklorico design, crafted by Concepto, was inspired by the distinctive and colorful Jalisco dress, adorned with bright ribbons that intertwine around the skirt. Reflecting the joy and vitality of Mexican music and dance, the mannequin featured an array of vivid blooms including purple limonium, yellow craspedia, orange pin cushions, pink gerbera, carnation barb, and anthurium.

CROW MUSEUM OF ASIAN ART OF THE UNIVERSITY

HAWTHORNE'S FLORAL COMPANY

Inspired by the wide range of Japanese folk art on display at the Crow Museum's exhibition titled Japan, Form & Function: The Montgomery Collection, Hawthorne's Floral Company celebrated Japan’s stunning landscapes and iconic blooms. Florals included chrysanthemums (kiku), the royal flower of Japan, lilies (yuri), a symbol of rebirth and rejuvenation, and cherry blossoms (Sakura), representing the transient nature of life and the beauty of impermanence.

DALLAS ARBORETUM AND BOTANICAL GARDENS
BLUSHINGTON BLOOMS

Step into the springtime wonder of the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden through Blushington Blooms' floral mannequin, which paid homage to the Arboretum’s breathtaking displays and landscapes. The display’s ornate gown was adorned with roses and cherry blossoms, with a skirt composed of orchids, moss, and other feminine elements, mirroring the Arboretum’s beauty. With a flourish of blooming tulips, reminiscent of the beloved Dallas Blooms festival, the display embodied the vibrant spirit of this botanical paradise.

DALLAS BLACK DANCE THEATRE
SWEETS DE SOL CREATIONS

Sweets de Sol's design was inspired by Dallas Black Dance Theatre’s Glimmer in the Dusk, choreographed by Derick McKoy, Jr., and the complexities of human emotion evoked by its beautiful choreography. Grasses and branches portrayed the entangled nature of facing life’s challenges, an ombre of burgundy blooms symbolized our human journey through varied emotions, and a picture frame represented one’s deep search for inner peace. Adorned in ivory rose petals and dried white ferns, this ILLUMINATION dancer’s dress radiated brightness, embodying the glimmer of hope amidst darkness.

DALLAS MUSEUM OF ART
HOUSE OF CLRK BY EMILY CLARKE

House of CLRK's mannequin drew inspiration from Piet Mondrian’s The Winkel Mill, Pointillist Version, on view at the Dallas Museum of Art. In this painting, he experiments with pointillism, applying small, distinct dots of color side by side to increase the overall sensation of light and color. The design aimed to defy conventional garment norms, echoing the rebellious spirit of the Impressionist era. The dress served as a rendition of the windmill, using small floral blooms to mimic the pointillist style of shading with small strokes.

DALLAS SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
FIORE X 7

Inspired by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra’s version of Richard Wagner’s Der Ring des Nibelungen, Fiore x 7 captured the essence of this legendary musical journey, with a rich tapestry of textures and vibrant colors composed of roses, carnations, spider mums, astilbes, and alchemilla mollis to portray the powerful circle of fire. The floral display also paid tribute to the distinguished GRAMMY® Award winner Fabio Luisi, clad in a timeless black and white tuxedo of black rose petals, ti leaves, silver brunia, and dusty miller.

DALLAS THEATER CENTER
TWELVE THIRTY FOUR

Twelve Thirty Four's mannequin paid homage to Dallas Theater Center’s new production of the timeless murder mystery, Dial M for Murder. It captured the suspense and intrigue of the story with a dramatic red dress inspired by the production’s costume design and a floral telephone, a crucial element in the plot that symbolizes the communication and manipulation between the characters.

KIMBELL ART MUSEUM
JUSTINE'S FLOWERS

Inspired by Michelangelo’s The Torment of Saint Anthony, on view at the Kimbell, Justine's Flowers' design embodied the creatures symbolizing Saint Anthony’s trials and temptations. This display was poised for seduction and attack, wearing an alluring gown with an underskirt layered with anthurium to mimic a scale-like texture and wings crafted from trichillium and cascading orchids, to convey movement. Armed with a wooden club, this mannequin stood amidst a rugged wilderness, composed of aspidistra leaves, hyacinths, calla lillies, ferns, and branches.

MEADOWS MUSEUM
BRANCHING OUT EVENTS

Branching Out Events was inspired by the theatricality of the Meadows Museum's Zuloaga masterpiece, The Bullfighter “El Segovianito,” and brought the painting’s intricate details and wide array of textures to life through the magic of fresh flowers and foliage. This display juxtaposed smooth elements such as philodendron, camellia, and anthurium with the textured richness of fluttery delphinium, furry dianthus, and ruffly carnations.

MODERN ART MUSEUM OF FORT WORTH
DR DELPHINIUM DESIGNS + EVENTS

Dr. Delphinium was inspired by the lush green Haitian landscape and patterns of Henri-Robert Brésil’s painting, Untitled landscape, featured in the Modern's Surrealism and Us exhibition. The design was crafted from palm leaf raffia, nodding to tropical fauna, and features a grand headdress inspired by Haitian Voodoo culture. Adorned with a floral snake and a skirt of anthuriums, proteas, and tropical blooms in vibrant reds, pinks, and oranges, this display captured the essence of Haiti’s vibrant landscape.

NASHER SCULPTURE CENTER
URBAN FLOWER GRANGE HALL

Drawing inspiration from the Nasher Sculpture Center’s serene garden and stunning architecture, Urban Flower Grange Hall's design accentuated the contrast between the sleek lines of the gallery and the lush backdrop of the garden, spotlighting the richness of natural vegetation through texture and color. Influenced by couture designers who incorporate organic, freeform shapes into their designs, this dress silhouette mirrored this fluidity, with a floral selection including carnations, anthurium, dianthus green trick, galax leaves, irises, and preserved bougainvillea.

LIZZIE BEE'S FLOWER SHOPPE

Immerse yourself in the timeless tale of Beauty and the Beast in Lizzie Bee's captivating design. The Beauty and the Beast were transformed into floral masterpieces using an array of beautiful blooms including roses, spray roses, limonium, trichilia, delphiniums, hyacinths, and alliums. This spring, Texas Ballet Theater performs Beauty and the Beast, choreographed by the legendary Lew Christensen in 1958.

THE CLIBURN
KATE MCLEOD STUDIO

Drawing inspiration from the captivating 2025 Cliburn Competition official artwork, Chromesthesia, by contemporary artist DAAS, Kate McLeod Studio's floral mannequin exuded the same vibrancy and dynamism. Adorned in a resplendent ball gown that mirrors the artwork’s bold color palette, this display embodied the essence of musicality and artistic expression, with colorful blooms cascading from the piano.

THE DALLAS OPERA
FLOWER SHACK BLOOMS

Step into the world of The Dallas Opera’s La Traviata with Flower Shack Blooms' floral tribute to its beloved heroine, Violetta. Inspired by her captivating costumes, this creation featured a slim bodice and lush v-neckline, flowing into a full, flared skirt. Embracing the symbolism of her name, the florists blended soft lavenders and purples, showcasing romantic roses and spray roses, accented by delicate hellebores.

EATALY
BELLISSIMI FIORI

Eataly celebrated Fleurs de Villes ARTISTE with a custom floral installation by Bellissimi Fiori. An ode to springtime an Eataly's Italian identity, this floral display welcomed visitors into Caffè Lavazza. Visit Terra, Eataly's wood-burning rooftop grill, for an exclusive cocktail menu inspired by Fleurs de Villes through June 2024.
