Glassblowing ignites the imagination, illustrates STEAM curriculum (STEM + Art), and offers life lessons. Through Art Reaching Out and IF/THEN®, girls from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas created over 75 unique glass butterflies while receiving a hands-on glass art making experience. Glass is an inspiring material that teaches patience and creativity while bringing physics, chemistry, material science, technology, and engineering to life. Cyrlea H. (Grand Prairie Boys & Girls Club) states, “this experience made me think about going into a career in science. I was curious about the atoms andhow the glass didn’t break or crack in so much heat.”
