NorthPark Center is known for its award-winning architecture – crisp white bricks, clean lines and shiny floors. But did you know that there are two small details hidden in the vast hallways that are very personal to the Nasher-Haemisegger family? Even the most dedicated shopper might have missed them despite many laps around NorthPark throughout the years.

In SouthCourt, near the BVLGARI boutique, there are two handprints and two footprints on the floor. Patsy Nasher, along with her three daughters Andrea, Joanie and Nancy, placed their hands and feet in the wet concrete on June 25, 1965. Their initials are carved under each print. Nancy, the co-owner of NorthPark today, was only 10 years old at the time.

Nancy continued the tradition with her family during the 2005-06 expansion. In the corner between H&M and Microsoft, you’ll find five more handprints and initials, belonging to Nancy, her husband David J. Haemisegger, and their children Sarah, Isabelle and David. It is dated February 9, 2006 – forty-one years after the original prints.
