Fabulous jewelry is always on the mind this time of year – Valentine’s Day is only ten days away! Today we are taking a look back at a very special jewelry exhibit installed at Neiman Marcus NorthPark in May 1970. The exhibit was Spanish surrealist artist Salvador Dali’s Art-in-Jewels, a fascinating collection of more than 30 pieces of jewelry designed by Dali. The unique baubles were crafted with platinum, gold, rubies, sapphires, emeralds and diamonds. Art-in-Jewels was owned by the Owen Cheatham Foundation and proceeds from visitors benefited the American Cancer Society, another notable fact, as February is American Heart Month.
