It was an action-packed summer for family movie-goers. The blockbuster hits, Guardians of the Galaxy and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, had boys rushing to the theater to cheer on their favorite superheroes. Fall also promises to bring some fun family flicks to the big screen. Here is a list of our favorites coming soon to AMC NorthPark 15.
Dolphin Tale 2
The fall’s most inspirational film has to be Dolphin Tale 2, which continues the story of the beautiful dolphin that was rescued and rehabilitated with the help of some dedicated people and a prosthetic tail. Movies like this teach children important life lessons like perseverance, hard work, dedication and compassion. This film will be released on September 19.
The Boxtrolls
The cute monsters and the cool animation have my son talking non-stop about this movie. The film tells the story about a group of trolls who live underneath a cobblestone street and sneak out at night to go dumpster-diving for treasures. It seems there will be some lessons in this film, too, about creativity, ingenuity, and friendship. The film will be released on September 26.
Alexander and the Terrible, No Good, Horrible, Very Bad Day
All parents are familiar with this classic children’s story by Judith Viorst that outlines a bad day told by its lead character. I can’t wait to see how Disney brings this story to life on the big screen. I anticipate there will be plenty of laughs, misadventures and fun. The film will be released on October 10.
The Book of Life
Get ready for a fun fright this Halloween with 20th Century Fox’s The Book of Life. The movie celebrates the Mexican holiday, Día de Muertos, or Day of the Dead, and will feature bold colors, whimsical characters, and plenty of laughable moments with silly skeletons. The film will be released on October 17.
