Summer is almost over and school will soon be in session.  Before the kids head back to school, there is an important weekend you’ll want to put on your calendars.  Tax-free weekend, also known as the state’s annual tax holiday, will take place August 8-10, 2014.  As in previous years, you can save about $8 for every $100 you spend on important essentials for back to school, such as clothing, footwear, and backpacks priced under $100.  On top of those savings, many retailers will be offering their own special discounts.  Here is your go-to guide for back-to-school, tax-free savings from NorthPark Center.

Clothing and Footwear

Now is the time to stock up on school clothes and shoes as most of these items will qualify as tax-free.  You will save on such items as pants, shirts, dresses, sweaters, tennis shoes and dress shoes. Accessories such as jewelry, purses and watches will not qualify for the discount. Extended Hours
