The brilliant color and bold style of sports apparel races into spring fashions.

The influence of sports apparel on fashion just seems to keep growing, for women as well as men.

Resort and spring collections were awash in chic takes on sports wear. It was big at the Grammys, too. Did you catch Bruno Mars’ hoodie and side-striped pants or Sza’s sparkling, shredded cheerleader dress?

There’s no shortage of inspiration here for fashion designers. Athletic wear is full of bold color and graphics, for starters. And it’s generally comfortable to wear, just like the spiffy sneakers that have become must haves.

Track suits, team jerseys/tees and tennis sweaters are leading silhouettes, along with 1970s-style running shorts, moto racing suits and outdoorsy attire, including raincoats and anoraks. Stripes abound.

Trendsetting Gucci mixed sports style with tailored clothing in a joint runway show of men’s and women’s spring fashions. Tulle overlays barely concealed swimsuits, colorful technical zip jackets topped romantic floral dresses, and precisely tailored men’s jackets paired with track shorts. It was all a bit madcap, but each piece stood on its own.

Similar blends turned up at Burberry, which tossed a hooded zip slicker over a satin skirt, and kate spade new york, which topped a feminine floral frock with a satin baseball jacket edged in stripes.

Coach lengthened a tennis sweater and jazzed it up with a giant number that could have been stripped from a football jersey, while BOSS Hugo Boss reimagined tennis knitwear into a curve-hugging dress trimmed with stripes.

Co-founded by a French tennis champ, Lacoste sent out track-inspired sportswear and transformed its iconic polo shirt included flirty one-shoulder dresses.

The youthful look crosses all price points. Women’s cashmere sweaters look more like sweatshirts at J.Crew, and men’s chinos close with a drawstring like 1970s jogging pants.
