In Texas, you either have to run outside early in the morning or in the evening when the sun has set. You are no match for the 100-degree weather. However, I happen to enjoy running outside more than I do on a treadmill. Below are a few accessories that have helped me stay cool during fitness activities in the summer.

The Nike featherlight 2.0 dri-fit cap available at Nordstrom is great for protecting my face from the sun. The moisture-wicking fabric dries quickly to keep you cool and comfortable. It also has breathable mesh vents. It retails for $25.
The Nike grip headband is not an ordinary headband. It won’t slip off because there are special grips on the inside of the band to ensure that it stays in place. The headband is also made out of the dri-fit fabric and retails for $15 at the Nike store.
The Nike+FuelBand in crimson is a great way to keep track of all of your movements throughout the day. The fun, bright color adds a nice touch for the season. It retails for $99.
I love the “Run from Work” backpack from lululemon athletica. The bag is durable and water-resistant. It has reflective detailing to keep you visible at night. It molds to your back for comfort. If you strap it on tight enough you can easily run with it. It’s also great because there is an inner pocket for a flat water bottle! The backpack sells for $98.
Lastly, I love the water bottles at Pink by Victoria’s Secret and all of their cheeky sayings. When you take a break from your workout, laugh it off and take a big gulp of water. This retails for $14.50.
